Hope & Compassion
for Grieving Families
At William’s Be Yourself Challenge (WBYC), we support grieving families through community, movement, and compassion. Founded in memory of William Shaw—a joyful 9-year-old who showed us the power of being yourself—WBYC helps families facing profound loss find connection, support, and moments of joy, even in the hardest times.
We’re also building The Green House, a retreat home where grieving families can find rest, reflection, and the space to simply be together.

What's New at WBYC
December 16 - Be Yourself Day
In honor of William Shaw’s birthday, we invite everyone to wear green and celebrate his mantra — Be Yourself.
We’ve designed a special t-shirt to mark the occasion and coordinate with our Bright The Night event that evening
December 16 - Brighten the Night

Join us on the Carlisle Common for our 4th annual remembrance event. Together, we’ll light candles, say our loved ones’ names aloud, and create space for our shared grief and love.
Attendance is free; donations are welcome to have a name read aloud during the vigil.
